Family Fur Traditions
Fendi is a brand with more than 100 years of history, dating back to 1925 when Eduardo Fendi and Adele Casagrande formed a family alliance and named their leather and fur handbag store, located in Rome, after her husband's last name. Thanks to its innovation, style and unrivaled quality, the brand quickly became famous and gained an audience. Now Fendi is a full-fledged fashion house that manufactures furs, shoes, clothing and accessories. It is part of the global fashion corporation LVMH and is headquartered in Rome, the city of creation.

History of the fur business of the Fendi family
After the wedding of Adele and Eduardo, a few years pass and in 1932 the second boutique of the brand was opened in one of the main streets of Via Piave.
It was only in the 1960s that a new generation took over the business: Adele Fendi's five children were all keen to rebuild the family business. They were all daughters, eager to continue their mother and father's business. Upon starting Fendi's, they immediately divided up the responsibilities. Each of the sisters chose a different type of employment: Paola was responsible for the fur products, daughter Anna - for leather goods, their sister Franca built relationships with customers, and sister Alda concentrated on sales of the brand's products. A daughter named Carla, with excellent leadership skills and a "generalist's gut", became the business's chief executive.
In 1964, the sisters, thanks to their combined efforts, opened a flagship boutique on the central Via Borgognona, which to this day houses the most luxurious brands.
In 1967, they soon signed a contract with the famous German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, which significantly changed the course of the brand's destiny. Under his leadership, the Fendi brand literally blossomed, with updated designs, an artful logo and incredible new collections that caused a sensation around the world.
In 1966, models of lightweight fur coats were introduced. After the fashion show, they immediately gained popularity and became a coveted item in any fashion-conscious woman's closet.
In 1985, Karl Lagerfeld and Fendi organized a joint show at Rome's Gallery of Modern Art, mesmerizing everyone with their new collections. A year later, the Fendi brand launches its first line of fragrances for men and for women, and a little later, in 1987, the range is expanded to include jeans and accessories such as eyewear.
The Fendi brand doesn't stop there and expands to the US. There it opened its first store in New York City on Fifth Avenue, a highly successful decision that allowed Fendi stores to expand to other countries and soon sell their wares worldwide.

2016 - in Palazzo Civita Italiana, the brand opens its own hotel and with it a flagship store, which is Fendi's largest boutique.

In February 2019, Silvia Venturini Fendi takes full control of the brand following the death of the great fashion designer partner Karl Lagerfeld.
