Lanvin is France's oldest fashion house, whose history began with Jeanne Lanvin's workshop in the late 19th century.

Today the firm remains a symbol of elegance and refined taste, combining centuries of tradition with a modern view of femininity and style.

The Lanvin brand range includes women's and men's clothing, shoes, bags and luxury accessories. Each piece reveals French precision, attention to detail and an intuitive sense of proportion that makes each piece recognizable.

The brand's products are aimed at people who value fashion not as a demonstration of status, but as a language of aesthetics and intelligence. To wear Lanvin is to choose not just a piece, but an idea that lives in the fabric, the cut and every stitch.

Lanvin is a French classic that has survived the ages

The Lanvin brand philosophy is built on the idea of delicate luxury. From the very beginning, the designer created clothes that emphasized individuality rather than hiding it behind fashion formulas. This idea has become the company's trademark.

The brand's unique keys include:

  • femininity without ostentatious glamor - Lanvin's clothes and accessories convey the image of a strong but soft woman, able to remain true to herself in any circumstances;
  • cult of fabric and cut - classic silhouette, soft lines, noble materials and thoughtful details create a sense of eternity;
  • a delicate balance between the past and the future. Each Lanvin collection becomes a dialog between eras: it sounds motifs of art deco, 1920's parade fashion and modern minimalism;
  • color philosophy - such an iconic signature shade as "Lanvin blue", inspired by the stained glass windows of the Cathedral of Saint-Chapelle, has become an iconic element of the brand.

Lanvin produces collections where sensuality and architectural clarity intersect. From silk dresses and austere coats to exquisite accessories, everything is subordinated to an aesthetic of tranquil chic. This is not loud luxury, but a confidence that needs no proof.

How fashion began with love

The fashion house was founded by a woman whose story inspires to this day. Jeanne Lanvin was a fashion designer who began her journey in 1889 by creating children's clothes for her daughter Marguerite. Her delicate, elegant dresses delighted Parisians, and soon she was sought out by mothers who wanted the same luxury for their children.

1920 was the decade when Lanvin found its legendary form. Paris was experiencing a golden age of fashion and it was during these years that Jeanne, already known as a talented couturier, finally shaped the aesthetic code of the house. Her collections were characterized by fluid lines, high quality cuts and hues inspired by painting.

In 1923, Lanvin opened her own atelier on the Rue de la Bois, where her iconic taffeta, silk and voile dresses, embellished with embroidery and beading, appeared. Lanvin's pieces were instantly recognizable: light but complex in structure, they combined sophistication and comfort. It was then that the Maison became synonymous with femininity without ostentatious glitz.

In 1924, the brand expanded to include perfume, and in 1926 Lanvin launched one of the world's first lines of menswear, Lanvin Homme. It was a step ahead of its time: Lanvin was one of the first couturiers to take both women's and men's closet equally seriously.

By the 1930s Lanvin stores were already prominent among Parisian couturiers, with actresses and aristocrats as clients. Jeanne created outfits for the stage and everyday life, skillfully balancing artistry and functionality.

After her death in 1946, management of the Maison passed to Marguerite, her daughter, inspiration and heiress. She retained her mother's aesthetic, evolving the brand towards art and contemporary design. In the 1950s, Lanvin continued on the haute couture path, showing collections in Paris and New York.

In 1980 the brand strengthened its position in perfumes and accessories, and in 1990 a new chapter began as the fashion house underwent a restructuring while maintaining its status as a symbol of French heritage.

The turning point came in 2001, when Alber Elbaz became creative director. It was he who brought back to Lanvin the humanity and poetry that the fashion world of the early twenty-first century lacked. His collections with bow-loops, pleating, hand draperies and light fabrics became a manifesto of femininity without pretentiousness. Elbaz brought back to the house the sensuality that Jeanne had once laid down - delicate, intelligent and aristocratic.

Today, the Lanvin brand is France's oldest operating fashion house, yet one of the most progressive. It remains true to the three principles set out by its creator herself:

  • existence of form;
  • the power of emotion;
  • purity of line.

The new Lanvin collections are a sophisticated combination of architectural cut and poetic lightness. The house continues to be inspired by art, collaborating with artists and musicians, producing not just clothes, but entire cultural statements.
